I Have Accepted My Fate

I must have Star Wars: The Old Republic.
At first I was upset that it was an MMO, instead of the rumored-for-years KOTOR III. I'm not sure how many people know this but the original KOTOR was the game that got me into gaming. As a wise Jedi once said, it was like I'd "taken my first step into a larger world." Being able to name and customize your character and make choices... and then I discovered mods. Ohhhh lord did I discover mods. And as I've gamed, I've realized the story doesn't actually matter to me so much as the way gaming fires your imagination by putting you into a different world. Let's just say if story mattered to me, I probably would not have been able to put 400+ hours into Guild Wars. For instance, I haven't actually finished Fallout 3. I've got all of the DLCs, finished 2, and am perfectly content wandering around the wasteland, messing around with my character's hair and clothes, and making forts in the G.E.C.K.
So, back to SWTOR. I'm going to play it. I'm going to be one of the first people to play it. The more I see of it, the more it makes me realize how much I love being in a space world. Way too much of RPGing involves swords and magic. Yawn, yawn, yawn. At this point I don't even care if this game sucks. I don't care that the art style is cartoony. I don't even care if it's a monthly subscription. I must have it. Since there's maybe a beta in January, I'm guessing I'm going to feel like this a whole lot longer.
Anyhow. This is just a note to the Bioware people. Do whatever you want. I will pay for it. I'm a sucker.
